Wissenschaftlicher Fokus
Die Herman-Gruppe will die physiologischen und molekularen Grundlagen der synaptischen Vielfalt verstehen. Insbesondere vergleichen wir zelluläre Prozesse, die in glutamatergen und GABAergen Synapsen ablaufen - den grundlegenden Einheiten, die das Gleichgewicht zwischen Erregung und Hemmung in neuronalen Netzwerken im ZNS steuern. Die Gruppe verwendet eine Kombination aus Elektrophysiologie, Molekularbiologie und Live-Imaging-Techniken, um dieses Thema zu untersuchen.
